Background

Mission

To create a warm, friendly and comfortable dental environment which makes patients want to pay attention to their oral health whilst providing quality health care to ALL patients who enter our dental practice.

Vision

To inform and educate patients about their oral health in an easily understandable and respectful manner; whilst simultaneously eliminating the stigma which perceives the dental setting as a cold and unpleasant environment where one is bound to experience pain or trauma.

About Me

My name is Wandile Taropafandwa Nxumalo, I’m a Swazi born and raised in Eswatini. My middle name is Shona and it was given to me by my mother, she is originally from Zimbabwe. I completed my preschool at The Theatre Club Preschool, in Mbabane, Eswatini in 2001.

My primary school education was done at Sifundzani Primary School, in Mbabane, Eswatini. Their slogan is “Tsemba Nkulunkulu, Usebente Kakhulu” which is a quote that I have lived by every day since I first entered their gates, and it has served me well.

For my high school education I attended Mananga College and I completed in 2013 as part of the last graduating class of the school. Their slogan was “beyond the summit to the stars” a phrase which has inspired me to aim beyond where my eyes and mind can reach.

I obtained my Bachelor of Dental Surgery Degree (BChD) at The University of the Western Cape, in Cape Town, South Africa. Their logo has the words “Respice Prospice” written on it. These are latin words which idiomatically put together mean “look to the future and learn from the past” and the future you are looking at goes beyond your mortal demise. I graduated from the institution in 2018.

I believe that my purpose in this life has something to do with making people believe in and become confident in themselves and making people want to smile. I believe that this purpose fortunately for me can be achieved through the work that I do in dentistry and also by living my life by example. I’ve been blessed to find myself in a position where I get to do something that I studied and enjoy doing every day, whilst still helping people in ways that they cannot help themselves.

Some of my other interests and things that I invest my time in include music, fashion and football.

Work Experience

During my final year at The University of the Western Cape I had the opportunity to work on the Phelophepha Health Care Train. It is also known as “the train of hope”, this train travels all year round to different parts of rural South Africa providing free health care to poorer communities who may not access them otherwise. I stayed on the train for two weeks at the Pietermaritzburg train station in Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa, providing basic dental care to the surrounding community.

Since graduating in 2018 I have spent time volunteering at the Mbabane government hospital assisting within the dental department and learning from the more experienced and friendly staff in the department.

I have also worked locums at The Dental Surgery, in Manzini, with Dr. T. Dlamini and Mdumo Oral Health Care Services, in Mbabane, with Dr. T. Dlamini 2019 and 2020.

On the 1st of December 2020 I managed to opened my own dental practice, which currently has two branches the main one is located at Litsemba Park in Sidwashini industrial site, Mbabane and our second practice can be found at Cardo Square in Ngwane Park, Manzini.
